Product uses

PE foam is mostly used in medical device packaging, orthopedic soft goods, and medical components in medical end-use applications. These products are made from non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and latex-free foam. They are safe during direct skin contact as they are filled with nitrogen gas. The medical PE foams market is being driven by high growth in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products and medical instruments in Asia-Pacific both for domestic and exports markets.

The polyethylene foams market in the automotive segment is anticipated to witness healthy growth owing to increased competition among players, growing demand for vehicles, supportive government policies, development of transportation infrastructure, and rapid economic growth. The automotive industry continues to use polyethylene foam on an increasing number of automotive parts and products. In addition, it is used in trains, trucks, buses, and cars for passenger comfort; it is used under the carpet, seats, console boxes, tool boxes, shock absorbers, and on the sides to reduce impact.

Building & Construction

PE foam is used in building and construction end-use applications such as forging, pipe-in-pipe, doors, roof boards, and slabs. XLPE foams have excellent thermal insulation, moisture resistance, and sound and vibration absorption properties and hence are appropriate for use in the building and construction industry.

The building and construction market is projected to grow at the second highest rate during the forecast period driven by huge investments in new infrastructure developments, new housing projects, and renovation of non-residential buildings in the U.S., China, India, and Brazil.
